Show Statement I'm a mid-westerner who moved to SE Portland 6 or 7 years ago. I live with two southern women, my partner and her teenaged daughter. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of a little northwesterner who will make me a papa. When I'm not navigating the web of hormones around the house, playing in the woods or purposely stacking the produce at New Seasons dangerously high, I like to make things out of paper or wood or paint that I find. Sometimes, I'm influenced by the layered twisted landscapes that make up this place we all now call home. Not that this show is "landscape art". I was just thinking to explain it by using a metaphor about the Russian Revolution and haircuts, but then it stopped making sense. So... landscapes. December 2010 |
